Wally's POV

Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things

I'm spread out on one of Wayne Manor's many many couches, watching the movie Dick popped in right before heading off towards the kitchen. I think it's either The Lion King or Fast and the Furious. Not sure. Wasn't really paying attention to the title as much as something elseand I think you can guess what it was.

"You hungry?"

Dick walks around the side of the couch and flops down beside me, two bowls of chocolate-chip cookies in his tiny arms. He hands one over to me and laughs at the hungry and excited expression I know I must have on my face. Seriously, I can feel myself drooling. I immediately start scarfing down the delicious treats, splitting my attention between them, the movie, and Dick.

So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past? Impossible!
She'd turn away from me

He's holding back, he's hiding
But what, I can't decide
Why won't he be the king I know he is
The king I see inside?


Lately it feels like he's been pulling away from me, like he's trying to keep something hidden. I have no idea why he'd want to do that. I mean, we're best friends. We tell each other everything. So why won't he tell me what's up?

I reach for another cookie only to find that my bowl is completely empty. Even the crumbs are gone.

Dammit.

I glance over at Dick's bowl and gape. He's still got more than half his share left. What does he do? Eat one at a time? His head turns turns to face me, tilts downard to look at my container, and a smirk runs across his lips.

"Went a little too fast there, dude."

I grab at his share suddenly, but he leans away at the last minute, out of my reach.

"Uh-uh-uh. These are mine. You are yours already." I lung again and he jumps to his feet, avoiding my attack once again.

"C'mon man!" I whine. "Share!"

"No!"

I fling myself off the couch and begin to chase him around the giant room. You'd think I could catch one guy easily with my superspeed and all, but no. He's as slippery as soap, spinning out of my grasp every time I get close. His mischieveous laughter fills the room and it drives me crazy in more ways than one. This continues for several seconds before he loses his balance on an chair arm and I seize the opportunity, tackling him onto the floor below.

Ow. That was stupid.

Now I'm on top of him, legs entangled in each other, arms intertwined, bowl of cookies somewhere I can't even see. There's a moment where nothing can be heard except the notes of a slow song coming from the TV. Then the air lights up as we start laughing our asses off, amazed at our own antics. It feels like old times again and it's perfect.

Until I feel it.

Out of nowhere there's a soft, warm pressure on my cheek that can't be anything else besides a pair of lips. And considering my current situation, they can only belong to one person.

Dick.

My eyes widen and my jaw drops open before I move my head to look him in the face.

His dark sunglasses flew off when we fell and now I can see every bit of emotion in his gorgeious, baby blue eyes. And along with his smile,,,that's definitely not a look you give to your best friend. It's one of adoration and want and something else I'm afraid to even say. i know I shouldn't think this but he looks so...beautiful. Raven hair, porcelain-white skin, electric blue eyes, and blush red lips make on ehell of a combination. I've thought about doing this so many times but I never thought I'd get the chance because best guy friends don't kiss each other on the lips.

But I do it anyway.

I close the tiny distance between us and slowly capture his lips with mine, my eyes closing along with his.

Oh God.

It's the best feeling in the world. He tastes like the choclate he's been munching on all night along with something cool and refreshing. Mint? Yeah, it's definitely mint. I didn't know lips could be so soft; more than pillows or marshmallows or feathers. Didn't know he could kiss this well either. He's moving them in time with mine and with so much ease, like he's done fighting everything and just wants to be with me.

I can feel it.

There's only one reason anyone would kiss another person like this. It's love and I can feel it tonight through his looks, this kiss, this touch.

I can definitely feel it.

And if he falls in love tonight

His carefree days with us are history

I was praying to God this wouldn't happen. At least while Bruce wasn't watching it through his giant super-computer with me as a witness. I dare a glance in his direction and I shrink away at the sheer force of his glare. Wally can forget carefree hangouts with his buddy now. Well, I guess "lover" would be the better term now?

I watch as Bruce spins on his heel and walks away, past Alfred who keeps quiet (good move), out of the Batcave, and I know exactly where he's going. This is bad. Really really bad. In short, my pal is
